Unhappy dns for redhat 8.0 using apache

I'm having a problem with dns using red hat 8.0. First of all let me explain what I am doing. I have apache running and it works fine, but i have to set it to listen to port 81 because my isp blocks all incoming requests to port 80. this is not a problem for me.
I have ftp running and configured fine, this may not be important but i plan on hosting websites on this server so i wan't the customer's to be able to ftp into there space to make changes if they need to.
what i need dns for is to resolve my website to an ip.
so far with my domain account i changed the settings to point it to my name server(all of these services are running in the same box by the way) to my ip address and the name of my dns server or host name. so basically when people type my website into an address bar it is redirected to my ip and hostname. now my server is supposed to do the job of dns. I have a search engine i paid for and when it tries to scan my website it says that theres a dns error. if i type it in a web browser and look at my logs on the server there is nothing. but if i go into the browser on the server and look at the system log it says
Dec 12 12:01:05 ns1 named[728]: lame server resolving"www.ikwote.com" (in"ikwote.com"?): xx.xx.xx.xx#53. port 53 works because i set up apache for one day to listen to port 53 and when i go to my friends house on dial up and type http://xx.xx.xx.xx:53 is goes right to the test page. i am trying to use the bind configuration utility clicking on the hat going to server settings and cliclking on domain name service. and also played around in the http server gui utility with no success.
by the way i have another server set up at a remote location named ns2.ikwote.com and when i disable the firewall on port 53 and let it do its job than my error log has its ip address listed as a lame server along with mine like as if its trying to resolve on my server first than the remote server second, but if i close the port on the remote server and type my url in the browser it hangs and times out. keep in mind i only get these error system logs when i go to the web browser on the server it self. any other computer even in my lan does not cause this error.
please help i would like my personal website to show the domain name instead of ip address in the browser bar. if i use masking from my domain name provider i get a robots.txt error which stops at there server. and if i don't mask it it works fine but shows my ip in the browser bar. i would like to get this resolved and move on to qmail. than i can work on https after that and finally be well on my way to be able to offer domain names hosting ect. to start my own business.
