difference between krb5-telnet and ekrb5-telnet

Hi,

I am trying to find the difference between the above two services. Both are under xinetd and can someone please explain the difference between them (is one more secure than the other one?)

Thanks in advance.

I know krb is kerberos. So it would be how one authenticates to the system.

Pretty sure you'd be better off with ssh.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran into this also and was trying to determine what each of these services were. They are both telnet kerberized telnet servers. The difference is krb5-telnet accepts regular telnet sessions AND Kerberos 5 authentication while ekrb5-telnet ONLY allows Kerberos 5.

My brief 'googling' didn't turn up much in useful information, so I just used what information was available in the ekrb5-telnet and krb5-telnet files under /etc/xinetd.d/

Hope this helps someone else down the line.
