Dial-up networking to BellSouth or MSN

Have kppp. Have external v.92 modem. kppp cfan fid modem and dial it and get connection. I cannot login. What do these ISPs want in terms of all the other parameters you can set in kppp? OS=Ubuntu 8.10.

Apparently these are difficult questions as many unanswered posts on various forums.

I don't know about Bellsouth, but to connect to MSN your username has to be "MSN/YOUR_USERNAME" (no quotes).
