Dial Up Networking

Hi everyone!
Thank you for reading this message.

I have a smlink 56k modem and I'd like to know how to use it on Red Hat Linux 9.
1.) It does not detect it.
2.) It doesn't work (I tried all ports)

Linux is a great system...I just need networking!

Please help with easy instructions since I'm really not a good programmer!

Thanks alot!

Also, do you know how to use NetZero on Linux? I tried to look for the software for Linux but I couldn't find it.

Solving this would be a great help!

Where is your modem connected?
pci slot, usb, serial port...??

There are a group of audio based modems, WinModems, that are only just supported in Linux, mostly one Lucent chipset.

Have a look at www.linmodems.org for more details.
