dial up modem configuration

1. I hope there's no concept of "dialling" in ADSL modems. they should b always on. but My ISP has provided a ADSL modem & asks me to dial up using "username and passwd" to get connected to internet.

2. but, in any case, how to configure a dial up modem in fedora core -2 ?

3. Some call it ADSL modem & some ADSL router.

thanx....

Tell us a little more - what make/model modem is it? How does it connect to your machine, USB or ethernet?

I only ask because USB modems can be a little problematic to set up (I speak from experience here!) and like many others I ended up buying a cheap modem/router to save all the hassle. Took me about five minutes to get connected.

Anyway, post back with a few more details. I'm not familiar with Red Hat myself, but I'm sure someone else can help.
