DHCPD two subnets on the same network
 

I have two subnets 192.168.0.0 - computers and 192.168.3.0 on the same physical network. 192.168.3.0 is a "vlan2" id and 192.168.0.0 is native. I would like my linux server to provide DHCP to them as my Windows 2000 server did. Note: I only had one ip bound to my windows server.

I did have to add a line to my Cisco router mentioning IP Helper.

yes, point ip-helper to your linux box, set all machines on both networks to point to the IP of your linux box, and DHCP should work. Make sure you remove your old line pointing to the windows box as an ip-helper.

Would the phones being on vlan 2 make any difference? Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't think so. vlan2 does connect to your default vlan in some manner, doesn't it? IE, you can ping across vlan2 to your dhcp server?

You are correct on that one. I must have another issue with it resolving the proper AvayaCallServer I set up in DNS.
