dhcpd.conf (Unable to boot Kernel)

Hi, I am currently facing with the kernel booting problem.

I had my RH7.3 PC (Host) connected to my target board. I am doing an
etherboot in the minicom area.
> e

Here is my error message:
...
Mounting "/xxx/xxx/xxx (<- I specify this in my dhcpd.conf) :
Permission denied.
...Unable to boot kernel "/xxx/xxx/xxx/vmlinuz (<- I also specify this in my
dhcpd.conf)

My dhcpd.conf is :
host target board {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
fixed-address xxxxxxxxx;
file-name "/xxx/xxx/xxx/vmlinuz";
option root-path "/xxx/xxx/xxx";
}

Could someone please teach me??

Greatly appreciate any help offered! Thank you!!

(I will replied to any responses here very quickly)

Looks like you do not have permissions to mount.

Are you trying to do a kisck start installation??

Sorry. I am very new to Linux.

I am still unable to load kernel.
I created a dhcpd.conf in /etc/ and a file (exports) in /etc/.
Regarding the
# make xconfig
Do I have to click IP: DHCP support?
BOOTP support?
Autonegotiation??

Thank very for any hints or help.

Hi Eileen ,

My head still having clouds of questions. It will be great if u tell us what target board u are talking about ? is it a microcontroller ? and it seems u r trying to ask something about compiling the kernel with dhcpc/d enabled . I supposed u r trying to do something from fresh install to bootup thin client on ur target board. Please explain more. thanks.
