dhcp only on ath0

hi everybody, well my problem is this: i'm trying to develop an ap over linux, i use debian sarge and my ap is connected to a wired network from which eth0 (my wired nic) gets ip directions through a dhcp server, well now i want my ap serves ip directions to wireless clients, so i want to configure only ath0 to use dhcp server local on my machine, and eth0 continues using dhcp server from wired network, when i try to do this always kernel shows a message which says "configure eth0 network". so why is happening this and how could i solve it?? thanks for your time.
