DHCP in rc.init

I'm quite happily running my new gentoo linux however every time I reboot i have to manually dhcp. I'm just wondering at which run level it would be best to put the dhcp in. Also, I generally have my box mount a samba share when it's booting so I need to make sure that I dhcp before that. At what run level do filesystems generally get mounted? Thanks a lot.
