dhcp daemon for one nic

hi, I was wondering if there was an easy way to give dhcp ip address to my clients from one nic. What command and/or script should I run?

Hello sharadshankar,

You can specify a particular ethernet to work for your dhcp server. Edit the directive 'DHCPARGS=' in the file '/etc/sysconfig/dhcpd' and add the ethernet interface, ie.. eth0 etc.. (only one, in case you need to use only one). ie ... 'DHCPARGS=eth0'.

Restart dhcpd and the server will listen on the ethernet interface you specified, the next time a client contacts for an ip.

Thanks,
