DHCP configuration

Hi there,

I have a stand alone computer (not connected to the internet) and I want to install dhcp on it. The OS I have is OpenSuse 10.0.
What I have done is assigned a static address to the eth0. Later I go into yast2 (absolutely loved it) I try and install a dhcp server.
Ofcourse when trying to set up the server I am asked for a pri and sec dns addresses and I tried leaving them empty and also tried to put some info in it.
What I really hope to achive is some sort of communication between the main OS and VMWares. Is it possible to achive this?

It is quite possible to connect to a virtual machine on the same pc through the "network".
Why don't you assign a static ip to both the virtual machine and the host machine (different ip's in the same range).
Once you have communication, you can setup dhcp server to assign ip's to the virtual pc's.
