dhclient and setting up fw issues

I am trying to setup my network to use a linux firewall and I am having problems getting eth0 to get an ip from my isp. When I do dhclient i get

Code:
root@localhost:/# dhclient -1 -q -lf /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient-eth0.leases -pf /var/run/dhclient-eth0.pid eth0
root@localhost:/# ps aux | grep dhclient
root@localhost:/#
It doesnt give any errors and it doesnt write anything in /var/log/messages but ifconfig eth0 doesnt show an ip nor can I ping any sites or see outside.

when I do dhcpcd eth0 it goes to the next line with no errors and I still dont have any outside connection.

The only issue I am having is getting eth0 to grab an ip from my isp if I could get that then I can handle the rest.
