Aragorn992 LQ Newbie Registered: Aug 2003 Posts: 3 Rep:	/dev/modem always busy when NOT logged in as root The subject is the problem. When I log in as root I can use wvdial, kppp, etc and my 56K modem dials and connects perfectly. However when im logged in not as root I always get "/dev/modem is busy" errors. Im not exactly an expert so any help would be appreciated. If it means anything I installed wvdial and kppp when I was properly logged in as root.
