Determining the order of network startup at boot

Hello dears,

I would like to determine and possibly choose the order of network device startup at boot. For example, I would like to star wlan0 before eth0.
What is the easiest way ?

I tried thorugh

/etc/network/interfaces

to set down eth0, configure the wlan0 and then setting up eth0, but seems it's not working everytime..

I am using an old 2.6 kernel and the distribution is Angstrom.

Thank youy in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,
Simon

What distribution?

And if you are using NetworkManager, you can't control it.

BTW, why do you need to control it?

Because I am experiencing problems with the DCHP having both wlan0 & eth0 at the same time.

It seems I am solving with a script called from

/etc/network/interfaces
