Debian on NSLU2 device won't share Win connection

Hi all

New poster here! In the interests of brevity, I am pointing to a question I've placed over at Linux Forums. I hope this doesn't qualify as cross-posting - the post is two weeks old and despite a polite chase, and substantial posting detail, I've got ~150 readers and no replies. Rather than type the whole thing out again, I hope it is sufficient just to point to it (if not please advise, and I will rectify accordingly).

I am particularly keen to get my Windows-based internet connection available on my NSLU2/Debian, and I really have tried everything I can think of, on and off, for some six or so hours now! Can anyone advise of some basic Debian diagnostic tools I can use to determine whether (a) Windows is sharing the connection correctly, (b) whether Zonealarm on Windows is causing a problem (Windows firewall is off), (c) whether IP Chains on Debian might be getting in the way, or (d) most likely, if I have got some aspect of the configuration wrong?

On a related note, does anyone know whether/how I can download precompiled binaries for the NSLU2 build from Windows, so that they can be FTPed to the NSLU2 and installed via SSH? I imagine these would be RPMs but am not sure on this point. Thanks if you can offer a quick bit of advice here.

Thanks all :)

Try changing the gateway directive to the ip of your laptop ('gateway 192.168.1.2') and removing the up and down lines.
