ddclient give the local network ip

Anyone use ddclient?

I configured it last night but this morning I am unable to log in to my remote box (which is about 50 miles away).

When I log in to Dyndns.org I see my host is configured to bind to 192.168.1.252 which is my server's address on the LAN.

The server is behind a DLink ADSL modem/Router, which, although it ostensibly has the capability to update the dyndns configuration, will not save the settings. In any case, I believe that this is not recommended as these modems tend to try to update far too frequently.

Nevermind.

I went to dyndns.org where they have this tool called "Update Client Configurator".

It basically generates a conf file for ddclient.

Problem solved.

I must've been googling with the wrong keywords.
