curious result "netstat -l"

Hello, all.

When I execute "netstat -l", I can see below.

tcp 0.0.0.0:32769 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 2016/rpc.statd
tcp 0.0.0.0:38670 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN -

But why can't I see pid or service name about port "38670"?
and how can I know about these ?

Thanks for your time..

Did you try “netstat -lp”?

Yes.
I executed "netstat -l" or "netstat -lnp" as a root.

Hi,

You could try using lsof (if installed).

Something like this: lsof -i4 will show all and this lsof -itcp:38670 will show tcp and port 38670 specific info.

Hope this helps.

Another alternative is the “ss” utility (on linux). But that still doesn’t explain what’s wrong with netstat…
