Cups, network printer and dummy driver
I am sharing a Samsung ML1640 printer via CUPS, and there are Windows clients who access it via http (although I can config smb/cifs if that changes anything).
When they "install network printer" on Windows, OS asks them to select a driver. This particular driver is not included in Windows by default, and the Samsung's packages are full of bloatware.
Linux (both local and network) printing works perfectly well.
Is there a way to share the same printer under an alias, that has a default driver on Windows? Ideally if the server served the driver itself, or the driver was included in Windows XP by default.
