CUPS 1.1.20 networked print server permissions problem with SAMSUNG ML-1710
I have a SAMSUNG ML-1710 printer connected to a Pentium machine with Redhat 9 on it. The Pentium is networked and the "no firewall" option was chosen. I used KDE to setup the printer with the CUPS ML1210 driver. I have test printed from the Pentium several times. On a remote machine under KDE Control Center, The CUPS printer is visible --- however I can't print from the remote machine --- even though it says it has successfully sent the print job. I looked at the CUPS on-line, but the additions to cupsd.conf didn't allow me to print from a remote computer after I restart the pentium's CUPS.
These are the things I have added to the cupsd.conf
Browsing On
BrowseProtocols cups
BrowseOrder Deny,Allow
BrowseAllow from @LOCAL
BrowseAllow From 192.168.2.*
BrowseAddress @LOCAL
Allow From 127.0.0.1
Allow From 192.168.2.*
Listen 127.0.0.1:631
I downloaded and installed the latest CUPS from cups.org--- this is not the default CUPS from Redhat 9.
I want to be able to print from a linux machine on my 192.168.2.X LAN to the Pentium print server. What do I need to add to cupsd.conf to do this?
Thanks,
Nate
