creating user account on all nodes of a cluster

Hi guys,

my University owns a 8 nodes Suse 9.1 based cluster, driven by a master node.

What we would like to do is find how to create the same user account on all nodes as quickly as possible: the best thing should be being able to create an user account only on the master node and "copying" it to all other nodes.

Unluckily I really have no idea how this stuff could be done : can anyone provide a hint a link or something helpful?

Thank you very much in advance!

Perhaps you should look into openLDAP

Thank you trickykid for your help.

I read something about openLDAP: it seems a very powerfull and flexible tool, but actually what I need is only to copy and paste user accounts on different nodes.

Some more informations: all nodes runs Suse 9.1 distro, and except for a later motherboard revision on some nodes HW setup is identical.

So I was wondering if creating accounts on one machine and then copying some files/directories to other coudl do the trick
