Could not determine network interfaces?

I just finished moving a SuSE linux box from one location to another. Everything was working fine when I shut down the box. Now when I power up I noticed this during the startup messages: "Could not determine network interfaces, you must use a interfaces config line." Then at the end just before the login prompt there is a line that informs me that eth0 and eth1 are not active. I'm wondering what could have happened to have caused this. As it is now, eth0 is set for dhcp but it cannot get an ip now. Any suggestions on how to approach this would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you exec:

# pump

or

# ifup eth1

(or eth0), you get any error messages?

Try to check at your network scripts, possibly in any directory like /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ ...
