Connection not working - icon disaperead from tray...
the network icon has disapeared from the tray, and when i try to click on the network centre on settings, nothing happens... i am on fedora, using an acer aspire one... help?

You need to give us more details. Are you talking of wired or wireless connection? What's the output of: ifconfig and iwconfig. I assume that you lost your connection along with the icon.
Open the terminal/konsole (command line interface) and type ifconfig [+enter], paste the output here, and do the same for iwconfig. Also you could post the output of /sbin/lspci
