connection not working after adsl-start

Hello

I just installed Slackware 9.1. There was no problem except for the internet-connection. I use an nforce 2 network - chip. This works fine after installing the nvidia drivers. However - after installing adsl (pppoe), submitting the required information and typing adsl-start nothing happens. The script tells me "connect", and the modem starts the connection --- nevertheless no program (ftp, ping, lynx, pine) is able to connect to the internet (couldn't resolve host name etc.)

Does anybody know what to do ?

Here my machine :

Enmid 8NAX+ (Nforce 2) - Board
Ethernet-ADSL-Modem
Athlon Processor
And so on ;o)

It worked fine with Fedora .. but I still hat Fedora, for there's no NTFS- or Envy24-Support.

ifconfig -a .... after adsl-start :

I also tried to change the netmask (although I didn't see the point) and tried to disable lo .. but it didn't work
