connection dead after update on ubuntu...HELP

hey all,

after downloading certain updates this has happened:
1) i cant ping to anything at all and i keep getting "ping: sendmsg: operation not permitted"
or i get
2) destination host unreachable and i can only get through to my router....

heres a detailed dump of the problem....

if u want a detailed dump of the problem, msg me and il email it to u , it doesnt wanna post on here

if anyone knows what i should do please advice me. thanks

First things first. Check the obvious. Do you have an IP address? Is your network card active in the configuration? Are your network settings correct? can you ping yourself 127.0.0.1? Do a traceroute and ping another computer on your LAN

i can ping the router....and i can ping myself, i cant ping anything else.....what do i do ?
