Connecting with Linux to my company LAN: is it possible?
Hi all, I'm sorry if what I'm going to ask is really stupid or simply impossible, but I'm a newbie, so be patient...
Ok, let's start! Some days ago I started an experiment: I tried some (very good) live distro on my company PC to answer this question:"Could I work with Linux without any problem in this Windows kingdom?"... I've been really surprised by the fact that at the 99% it was possible, but... something did not work. I mean that Linux immediatly connected my PC to my local company net, I was able to surf in our Intranet with no specific setting, but even putting the right server address and the right port number in Konqueror or Firefox, I've not been able to pass my proxy and connect to Internet (for example: I wasn't even asked for my username and password...), the last step to make me completely work with Linux... So this is my question: Is ti possible to connect to Internet through my company LAN? (Windows 2003 server)If so: What have I forgotten to do? Another important information: in Windows 2000 for my authentication I have to provide a domain too.
Thanks to everyone helping me.
