Hmmm...Peanut sees my cable modem, but I cant get anywhere. My ISP (cox.net) only supports Microsucks or MacOS, so they are no help. Any ideas on how to get past the stupid modem so I can actually run into some problems?

Is your isp a front for a larger cable company? If so look on the Cable-Modem HOWTO.
