Connecting to a networked hard drive

Switched to linux recently and I am still learning the ins and outs. I have a folder on a hard drive at school that I want to be able to access from home. I know how to map it as a network drive in Windows, but I do not know how to access these files from Ubuntu. I can get to this folder using ssh, but I want to be able to have a GUI. I know I have to vpn into the network, and I can do that. What do I do after that? Any help is much appreciated.

Server Name: \\aspengrove.cs.tamu.edu\username
and obviously I have the username and password.

Any other information you need just let me know.

Jonathan
