connecting through eth1

I just got my wireless access point in the mail. My laptop has two integrated network cards: eth0(rj-45) and eth1(wireless). How do I make Linux use the wireless card as the default card? I tried nameif and it did nothing at all. When I unplug the eth0 card, I have no way to connect to the internet. Any help would be appreciated.
