Connecting Mandrake to a windows domain.

What is the easiest way for a :newbie: like me to connect Mandrake to a Windows Domain. The computer hosting the domain is running Windows 2000 server, with Active Directory and DNS. If you could help it would be much appreciated.

The MS domain can be running any or several configs
netbeef
novel
tcp/ip

if it is a dhcp system then it is almost automatic if your NIC card is set up for this.

If not get the ip assigned for it.
Also some firewalls look for the MAC address

With a static IP you will have to mess (add, modify, info)with the routing config files
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth#
/etc/resolve.conf

(On my RH9.0 they're all in
/etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/)

I probably missed a couple so study :study:

RE: Connecting Mandrak to a windows domain

If buy netbeef you mean netbios then yeah that's what it is... If you don't mean netbios then I guess TC/IP, I have it set up to get DNS from the NetBios name, or something like that.
