Connecting Linux box to Internet through Windowx XP box over LAN

Hi; I have started using linux only a few days back. I have 2 computers connected physically through an Ethernet switch. One computer runs on Windows XP and another computer runs on Red Hat Linux 9.0. I have a dialup Internet connection on my Windows XP machine (i use internal modem). I want to share this connection with my Linux machine. And also, I want to configure my LAN to enable File sharing... Now I am completly new to linux and hence dont know anything about configuring networks under linux, under windows XP it was too easy. Please F1.... :)

Best Regards,
Pradeep P. Chandiramani

You can use SAMBA com share files but as XP uses the NT file system you will have read only access, i guess.
With samba you can share files, devices.
