Connect Redhat 7.2 to Windows XP Pro
arial Hi I am a new user to Linux Redhat 7.2, I've just installed the ISO on my Compaq Deskpro 4000 and what I'm trying to do is connect my linux system to my windows xp system for file sharing, printer sharing and internet sharing. My windows xp is the server and is the one that has the internet directly connected to it, as well as the printer. I am totally new to Linux and do not know how to use it. I've went on many web-site searching for answer on how to connect linux to windows. Almost all the websit told me to use something called SMB (Samba), but exactly what is that and how do I use it to connect my linux system to my xp system?,
if anyone got any idea or know how this can be done pleae please please help me out. I've ask my VB teacher about it and he's telling me that it is not possible, but I'm not goin to take his word for it because if I have some knowledge about computer then I know that it is possible.
sorry for rambling on, but my question again is:
can someone show me how to connect my linux system to my xp system for file sharing?.
Thank You.
