Configuring SUSE 11 Networking
Hello,
I'm a newbie and having troubles setting up my network using OpenSuse 11.
My SUSE 11 is a guest under VMware on my windows xp machine.
I have a small SMC router which the DSL line connects to.
Here are the IP addresses I'm using and where.
My home IP, that which is know to the outside world is something like 216.254.123.456, from my windows xp machines I can ping that address without any problems but I can't ping it from the SUSE box.
The SUSE 11 box is at 192.168.1.90 and the gateway is at 192.168.1.1 which is also in the SMC rounter, I can ping both of these IP's from my network configuration in the SUSE box and from my windows machine ... no problem.
The external gateway at the router is at 216.254.113.1 and I can ping that IP also bit the SUSE and Windows machine. I also put that address in the SUSE box.
I would like to use SUSE as a DNS server and router.
This is driving me crazy, any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
