Configuring squid as a cache only

I want to configure squid so that i caches the requests but do no proxy them.
I configured squid but when a user browses a website it gives the ip of the machine running squid. i want that the ip of the user should be shown.
How to do that?

Apparently, you should try to turn the forwarded_for option on in your squid.conf file. I never tried this, so I am not sure.
