Configuring CISCO VPN Client

In Windows XP, to create a VPN connection, all I had to do was run the connection wizard. It asked me for an ip/hostname, username, password, and domain. The CISCO VPN client requires a configuration file. Looking through it, my biggest problem is that I don't understand "GroupName"; predictably, when I try to connect, I am asked for a Group Password. What the heck are these?

If anyone could help me out, or show me how to retrieve the config file settings from my XP connection, I would greatly appreciate it!

The VPN Client Group Password on your XP box is hashed somewhere in the registry. You'll need to get the group name and password from whoever administers the Cisco box you're connecting to. If it's a router, the group name and password are in the config file in cleartext. If it's a 3000 series VPN concentrator, someone will need to remember it. Not sure if the PIX hashes the group password or not.
