i need to have an experimental setup for my project.... the requirements for that are
1) i need to make a linux machine act as a proxy
2) under the proxy linux machine i will have two or more systems in a LAN


Important:
Every traffic (ie even TCP and ICMP Packets) to and from the LAN systems should only pass through the proxy.



Actually i'm working in my college lab that has a switched network... Any ideas on this please make it brief since i'm new to this

Do you want a proxy or you want only routing.
If you want only routing try the yolinux site - they have an excellent tutorial on setting up internet gateway. I used it and it is working.
