computer turns on from WOL but not really

This laptop I have turns back on from WOL, but I cannot ssh into the machine nor do I have any gui access on the laptop. It's half alive.

I implemented WOL based on this post:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...highlight=wake

Any troubleshooting ideas on where to go from here?
Thanks.

Did you powering it off normaly or only hibernating? Check logs from this unsuccesful boot.

I cheated and just put Centos 5 on it and WOL had no problem working. The laptop was choking under the latest Ubuntu anyways. Thanks for the help
