Exclamation Complete Linux indepth question

This is sort of off topic but just want to hear some advice.
I have the new proxim client b card.

If you guys are getting success some what is what I am hearing.
Assuming my laptop is compatiable with linux.
What would you all recommend.
Once I get it from the repair shop that is.

Looking for some what of easy of use since I am new to linux have messed around with it in the past but if I go from XP to linux I want to find a premant new "home". Looking for security in a hight point of what I need. Need antivirus recommendations as well. What Linux OS should I get?

-high security
-easy of use (as I learn my way out of the hole)
-I cant think of any other points right now but I also would like it to be able to run an application made for a Microsoft OS. The application I am referring to is xbconnect. I am trying to get all the questions answered so I can install it all at once if it is compatiable.

Looking for feedback and LOTS OF IT.
