Cisco VPN Client on Debian with kernel 2.6.4

I want to use the Cisco VPN Client for Linux on my Debian box.
The kernel version I use is 2.6.4.
The client version is 4.0.4.B-k9.

When I do the following:

vpnclient connect myconnection

it only returns:

fread: Success
Cannot secure command line arguments.

The file "myconnection.pcf" is in /etc/CiscoSystemsVPNClient/Profiles
and I started /etc/init.d/vpnclient_init

What could be wrong?

I have never heard of this. I am not sure of how recent that version is, but I believe that it was released with 4.0.2 for windows - which is very problematic. I would downgrade it, and try again. I have had great luck with the 3.6.x versions.
