cisco IOS replacement?

this may be a dumb question and i haven't searched that much as i haven't had much time, but i was wondering if anybody knew of a good linux replacement for cisco IOS on this random switch i have laying around. its a catalyst 2900XL and is completely wiped...i may or may not have hit the "format flash:" key.

at any rate, i was hoping somebody might have a good distro for me to check out??
