Child of a Subdomain

I am working on a flex project, and one of the issues that I have run into during my dev cycle is working with a child of a subdomain, IE child.subdomain.domain.com (admin.mail.abc.com). Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to get this up and working correctly? I have searched every possible place I could find, and I am at a lose.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
