setting up ISP connection everything works- modem dected and initialised, get dial tone OK, but doesn't dial the number. the number in connect script is correct, then ofter a short timeout tries to login to ISP check chat line is script and all seem correct? does chat use a dialer that i don't have install. i'm using debian 3.0 distro
I thought chat was the dialer, i'll have another look for a dialer i don't think i have wvdial installed i add it and try it out thanks, i'm starting the connection with the diald menu item in the KDE->utilities->debian-> menu
read up on and am now using wvdial from a shell in kde2 it now dials, and connects properly but when i start mozilla or simalar it dosen't communicate with the connection
installed kppp and setup,dials and connects (check in modem term) but pppd dies exit 8 (connect script failed) check all docs howto etc check all files papsecrets,options isp using PAP will stick with kppp now but need help followed recomendations in doc like removeing lock file in options, modem terminal says expecting CONNECT but CONNECT (57600) or somthing like chaned modem command to expect this but still no joy. ISP has virtually no linux knowladge. were to go from here
