changing non-main routing tables ?

Some software I am running uses the 127 routing table
ip route show table 127 gives me
192.168.0.0/24 dev eth0 proto static
default via 192.168.101.3 dev tap0 proto static scope link

I need the default to point to some other number, and some other device. How do I change this entry??

I know how to do it with the "main" routing table.
route add default gw 10.10.10.1

I have never heard of this 127 routing table, could some one fill me in on what it is and what is it doing?

BTW i am using RH7.3 with 2.4.18-3 kernel on a Dell laptop.
Please any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

To change it, do
ip route replace default via x.x.x.x dev tap0 table 127

Routing for a while has been using the ip_route2 programme which uses these tables.
ip rule list will give you the active rules and the tables they use.

Tables are usually in /etc/iproute2/rt_tables...
