Changing an Ethernet NIC

Correction: Linux sees en0 as the new card's MAC address. Whenever I try to ping the gateway, it says host unreachable, yet I can ping the local IP
XXX.XXX.XXX.80

I have a server where the motherboard's integrated NIC died. I added a second card, and disabled the original in the BIOS. Now, I cannot figure out how to get the old IP address to bind to the new NIC. Is there any setup I need to do to change the drivers or anything? This is on slackware 10.0

Just change the init scripts from eth0 to en0. I don't remember exactly which init script it is under slackware.

That's not the issue. I just said en0 out of habit of working on OS X. It really says eth0. For whatever reason, it knows that the card is there, knows its IP address, but it says that the host is unreachable when I ping another device - the other devices on the network work fine, and I've tried different network ports. Any other thoughts?

Please post the output of the 'route' command. I am guessing your routing tables could be screwed up.
