Change MAC/hardware address


how do i temporary change the MAC/hardware address of my NIC and have it go back to its real/original address???

using Ubuntu Live 6.10 disc

Depending on setup you should be able to bring the nic down wait a few seconds then bring back up to see return it to default config.
/sbin/ifconfig eth0 down
then
/sbin/ifconfig eth0 up
