Certain IP refuses to work on CentOS

I have a NIS server that I am migrating to VMWare. I assigned it a temp IP (say 10.10.10.85). After the migration is complete, I want to assign it the IP of the old NIS server so my clients can connect. I change to IP to 10.10.10.75 (the IP of the old NIS server). It is on the same subnet, same switch, and same network as the previous NIS server, but that IP refuses to work! I lose all connection when I change the IP. If I change it back, network works fine. I'm baffled.

Ok, I created a temp server and started transferring over files until I got the same behavior. I narrowed it down to the hosts.allow file.
I don't recall changing anything here, so I'm still a bit confused.
I changed it to ALL:ALL and everything works.

There was a typo in my hosts.allow. What an odd behavior.
