centralized authetication NIS or LDAP

Hi,
Here is my case :

server - Fedora - FC2
clients ( total 15 ) - FC2 (KDE as Desktop)

1.Now i want to implement centralized authtication so all user logins can be managed at server.
2.is it possible to autheticate squid users using NIS?
3.is it possible to store browser book marks ( Mozilla or Firefox) using LDAP at server?

Can you please provide step by step details or Web links so i can do it.
Is it better to use NIS or LDAP?

- thanks for your time

You should try out LDAP. It's the future to distribute user information.
If you have an old infrastucture that needs NIS, than you should use NIS.

The answers to your questions is
1) LDAP and NIS: Yes
2) I would guess that it should work ok both with LDAP and NIS.
3) Yes, but I havn't tried it.
