uhh... Idk.. heres my setup though. I have a nix box with 2 nics getting its base IP from a router.. and hence the internet. Then I have the second nic doing DCHP to subnet 192.168.2.0/24 . I have 1 nix machine, and one XP machine on this subnet. Both are on the internet.. connecting anyways.. and both can connect to each other. I just dont know if the network outside sees us as 192.168.2.14 for example .. instead of 192.168.1.100 (the first nix box). whats the easiest way to check this?

i could be wrong, but if the boxes are on the net, chances are it's working because the router should (should) only recognize adresses in its class on the internal network (i.e. 192.168.1.XX). If there is a computer on your network with a sniffer program, you could use that to tell if the packets were being masqeraded, do an infinite ping and look at the IP being sent.

ping a machine running the sniffer on the .1 subnet from a machine on the .2 subnet and see what IP you get.
