Question can't remove a network printer with erroneous ip

Hello,

I made a mistake when installing a network printer using the wrong IP address. I would like to either change the ip or uninstall the thing, but can't do it either through the gnome cups manager or through the browser cups interface, even as root.

I can't find any trace of it in the printer configuration file. Does anybody know where it might be lurking, and most of all, how to get rid of or alter the pesky thing ?

I'm a linux newbie, but not a new computer user, and not afraid of discovering how the system works.

Lucy

which distro do you use? fedora, debian, suse etc.
if you use fedora type the command
system-config-printer
you can just select and delete the printer.

I'm on ubuntu (like many ex-windows users) and unfortunately bash doesn't accept the fedora command.
Thanks for your kind help anyway.

I was having the same problem for a while and it was driving me crazy. I still can't figure out where the conf files for the printer were hidden but...

I installed the foomatic-gui package from the Ubuntu repositories, and ran foomatic-gui as superuser.

The bad printer showed up and I was able to simply hit delete. This seems to have gotten rid of it totally. Hope this helps!
