Unhappy Cant connect 2 DSL internet via ethernet card in Mandriva 2007


I am using Mandriva Linux One distro and wanted 2 configure it for internet acces via ADSL. The distro detects my ethernet card fine(realtek) bt does not connect to the internet. I set the connection type to DHCP.It shows a connection failed warning..pls help

go to MMC and configure your Ip address, dns and check: ping to your dsl modem. make sure your modem working as dhcp server or use static ip with your linux box.
