My netstat output is identical to his and I can access SSHD just fine:

root@Ubuntu:~# netstat -lnt |grep ":22"
tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN

No 0.0.0.0:22 needed...

Does anybody know if the Ubuntu system services gui names the firewall service in an obvious manner, ie "Firewall service" or similar? I'm thinking that there is a firewall on his Ubuntu box that is restricting it, but is named something funky within the services gui so he didn't see it. I'm just speculating tho.

Edit: Forgot to mention I access SSHD just fine **via IPv4**.

Hi there.

A friend helped me find out that the Ubuntu machine was running ufw. Added rule for port 22 and it works now. Thanks for your help.

Owen.
